The Joint Seat Allocation Authority has officially released the category wise top 20 percentile for each and every board for admission into the best Indian Institute of Technology .
According to the JEE ADVANCED notification ,the aspirants must secure at least 75% aggregate marks in General category and 65% marks for SC /ST/PWD Category in class 12th examination.
In the other case they should be in top 20 percentile cut off released by. Candidates satisfying either of the two criteria will be eligible for admission into IITs.
How is Top-20 percentile cutoff calculated ?
The marks for the following 5 subjects are considered-Physics , Chemistry, Mathematics,a Language, Remaining Subject .If there are more than one languages then the marks of higher one will be given preference.

What if the board doesn’t release cutoff for top 20 percentile?
In case board doesn’t provide cutoff for the top 20 percentile,the candidate will have to produce a certificate from respective board stating that he/she falls in the top 20 percentile of the successful candidates .If a candidate fails to do so ,the cutoff for CBSE will be used in the respective category.
